A looping short-form video featuring a hyper-feminine character who aggressively consumes donuts to the found audio
of a viral pig call video, using absurdist humor to critique societal expectations of the female body.

Sooie is a looping video performance in which Carlton embodies a hyper-feminine character inspired by the campy 1960s fembot archetype from the Austin Powers franchise. Styled as a sexualized machine-woman, the character disrupts this idealized fantasy through the consumption of donuts set to the sound of pig calls from a viral internet video. The juxtaposition of seduction and abjection produces a tension that hovers between humor and unease. By looping this sequence, the work examines how the female body is simultaneously consumed and expected to function as a symbol of desire.
